Black History Month
20 babies and children, 11 sets of adopters and the friendly team from Family Adoption Links all combined to make the latest ‘Getting to know you’ Adoption Activity Day a success on Saturday.
The event, themed in the style of a children’s party, is designed to give the adopters the chance to meet the children who are awaiting adoption in a fun and relaxed atmosphere with the view to creating links and eventually a loving family.
Adopters Alex and Rob (not their real names) enthused “We had a great time and we found it very helpful to speak to foster carers and social workers and to meet some of the children, we even got to have a dance with Amaia. It was very light hearted and all the children were very sweet and confident it was great to see them thriving and all so smiley. All the staff were incredible too, they put us at ease quite quickly as they could tell the room was nervous. I would highly recommend these types of events to other adopters.”
