The Adoption

The Adoption Support Fund

Support Fund

Sometimes adoptive children need additional or bespoke support that isn't available through Family Adoption Links. That's where the Adoption Support Fund comes in. This is a government fund that provides money for children and families to help improve relationships, confidence and behaviour. It’s available to all children adopted from care up to the age of 18 (or 25 with a SEND statement).

Examples of what the Fund has previously been used for include…
How to apply…
  • In the first instance, please contact your local Family Adoption Links partner who will listen carefully and discuss your needs. Then, where required, organise an Assessment of Needs.
  • Where it is agreed that further therapy will benefit your child, we will apply on your behalf. The Government will then release the funds to us to administer for you.
  • Your Social Worker will work with you to identify the best services/therapy available and the right professional to deliver them
