Your Voice Matters: Share Your Adoption Experience in Government Consultations

He has a joyful, gentle nature and a huge smile that immediately draws people to him. Caleb is a happy, contented little boy who loves sharing moments of connection with those around him.
Caleb is sociable and confident with others, enjoying eye contact, familiar voices and playful interaction. He recognises his name, responds warmly to attention and shows curiosity about the world around him. When he feels safe and settled, he is affectionate, relaxed and keen to engage.
A day in his life
Caleb typically wakes between 6 and 7 am after sleeping well through the night. Mornings are a special time for cuddles before breakfast, which he loves. He has a healthy appetite and happily enjoys mashed foods like porridge and fruit.
After getting dressed, Caleb loves choosing toys and books from his basket, playing independently or alongside adults. He benefits from regular daytime naps. He loves being outdoors, where he happily waves and smiles at people passing by. Evenings are filled with quiet play, stories, and bath time which is one of his favourite parts of the day, followed by a calm bedtime routine that helps him drift off peacefully.
What he enjoys the most
Caleb loves playing with sensory toys, rattles and stacking cups. He enjoys looking at books and being read to, especially bright, tactile stories. Bubbles are a firm favourite and never fail to bring delighted giggles.
He also loves sitting on an adult’s lap, being talked to and engaged with, and watching familiar children’s programmes that often make him laugh out loud.
How will you help him to thrive?
Caleb needs a family who can offer warmth, emotional security and consistent, nurturing care as he continues to grow and develop.
He is making steady progress but is slightly behind his age. He will thrive with patient, encouraging parents who can support him as he builds confidence, particularly with physical milestones such as sitting, crawling, and walking. Having had an unsettled start in life, he flourishes with predictable routines, sensitive caregiving, and adults who can tune in to his emotional needs. Caleb needs a safe, loving and nurturing home, where he can grow at his own pace and feel secure in the knowledge that he belongs. His family will need to be attentive, patient and able to celebrate his achievements, however small.
Caleb will thrive in a family that enjoys spending time together, offers plenty of interaction, play and affection, and can commit to him for life.
If you can offer Caleb the safe, loving and permanent home he deserves, we’d love to hear from you. You could be the family who helps him flourish and reach his full, wonderful potential.
