Ava (2) and Mabel (1)

Could you adopt these little sisters and best friends who are full of giggles & sunshine?

Say hello to Ava and Mabel, two joyful, spirited little girls with a deep sisterly bond and a zest for life. These sweet sisters are looking for a forever family where they can continue to thrive, love and be loved in return.

Who they are…

Ava is gentle, observant, and loves music and dancing. She’s finding her voice more and more each day and lights up when she hears nursery rhymes—especially when someone sings “Row, Row, Row Your Boat.” Though she can be a little shy at first, she often looks to her younger sister Mabel for encouragement and will copy her confidence. Ava adores books (especially ones about farm animals!), painting, and dancing in circles when her favourite songs come on.

Mabel is bubbly, adventurous, and always on the go! Whether she’s climbing, running through the playground, or splashing water whilst helping in the garden, Mabel brings boundless energy and joy to every moment. She loves playing music on Alexa and dancing along, often copying Ava’s moves with a big, cheeky grin. Like her sister, she’s a big fan of farm animal books and dolls.

A day in their world

The girls usually wake up around around 7am, ready to start their day of fun. After breakfast and a warm bottle of milk, they dive straight into playtime—drawing, painting, dancing and chasing each other around the park.

Lunch is typically around 11:30 am, followed by a nap (now taken separately to suit their rhythms). Their afternoons are filled with more play before winding down with dinner, a bath and another bottle of milk. Their day ends with storytime and a comforting episode of In the Night Garden before bedtime between 7 and 7:30 pm.

Their favourites

  • TV: Cocomelon and In the Night Garden
  • Books: Hardback picture books about farm animals
  • Music: Nursery rhymes, especially ones with actions
  • Toys: Dolls, paint, and colouring supplies
  • Food: Ava loves mash, veggies, and finger foods (especially if mashed!); Mabel enjoys multigrain hoops, veggies, and snacks like banana and carrot sticks

Sensitive souls

Ava and Mabel are both sensitive to loud noises like barking dogs or overhead planes. They tend to cover their ears and seek comfort during these moments. Despite this, both have lived around dogs and are curious—just cautious.

Development and progress

Due to early neglect, both girls experienced some developmental delays. Since coming into care, however, they’ve made incredible progress. Ava is gaining confidence and finding her words. Mabel is climbing, talking and dancing like a natural performer. They are physically healthy, emotionally engaged and thriving in a stable, loving foster environment.

Both girls are learning what it means to feel safe, loved, and heard—and they’re ready to continue this journey with their forever family.

The bond they share

Ava and Mabel are inseparable. Ava, the older sister, often watches Mabel before trying something new, while Mabel loves to mimic Ava’s actions—especially during songs and games. They comfort each other, giggle together, and share a connection that is so lovely to see.

The family they need

These precious girls are looking for a family who will:

  • Offer nurturing, patient, and responsive care
  • Make Ava and Mabel the youngest children in the home by at least two years (if you have children already)
  • Support their emotional and developmental growth
  • Help them continue to build secure attachments and feel safe and cherished
  • maintain a connection with their current foster carer, who they are very fond of.

We have no preference regarding family structure, religion, or ethnicity—what matters most is love, understanding, and commitment.

Support on the journey

Adoption is a journey, and support is key. You’ll have access to:

  • A bespoke adoption support plan for the first 3 years
  • Ongoing assessment of support needs until the girls turn 18 (or 25 in some cases)
  • Parenting workshops, activity days, newsletters, and support groups via Family Adoption Links
  • Educational guidance through Lincolnshire’s Virtual School

Could you be their forever?

Ava and Mabel have overcome so much in their short lives now, they’re ready to find a forever family to nurture, love and support them, if that’s you, we’d love to hear from you.

Please note that this is a stock image and the girls’ names have been changed to protect their identity.
