Christmas Party
9 month old Amelia is making fantastic progress after being born 6 weeks early. She’s still a bit wobbly sitting up but with support from her foster carer (or a few cushions), she’s loving her new perspective on the world. Her favourite thing is to snuggle in and be read to, she loves the warmth and comfort of your arms and voice.
Amelia is a little social butterfly and enjoys lots of activities including going to the local Children’s Centre for a play or going for a splash and a swim on Saturday mornings at the local swimming pool. She’s in her element when she’s in the water.
Amelia’s foster carers describe her as an easy child to care for. She will make cute little noises when she’s hungry and rarely cries, only becoming unsettled when she needs changing.
Her foster carers have got Amelia into a great routine that she’s really thriving under. She’ll have a big nap during the day before going to bed at 6.30pm. You’ll also be happy to know that she’s a great sleeper and will easily sleep through until 6.30am.
Amelia’s perfect day looks a little like this…
She’ll wake up around 6.30am and will happily babble away to herself until her foster carers go in and get her. Then it’s into the highchair for a bit of cereal. She likes to try and feed herself and doesn’t miss her mouth too often. With a full tummy, she’s then ready for adventure so it’s off to the play centre close to where she lives for some soft play and singing.
After a lunch time nap she enjoys a snack, cheesy wotsits are a favourite sending her mouth and fingers very orange!
Amelia is great at tummy time and it’s really helping to strengthen her little core and neck muscles. She also has one foot that turns in slightly and so her foster carers take this opportunity to do her physio exercises to help it get better.
When it’s time for bath, book and bed, she really enjoys this quiet time as she unwinds from her busy day, laying in her cot until she gently drifts off.
