Robbie (4)

Robbie is a loving, funny, inquisitive, and joyous little boy who needs a family who understands him and has the time and energy to help him to grow and flourish.

Robbie is a delightful little boy with an amazing smile and cheeky demeanour. Robbie likes to be busy. He enjoys being outside in the garden, taking trips to the park and helping with the shopping. In fact, he likes most things if he has someone to help him and spend time with him. He likes to help with the housework, brushing up and cleaning. He enjoys colouring, play-doh and looking at books.

Robbie is kind and loves helping out. He has a lovely smile and laugh.

Robbie has some developmental delay and learning needs and his foster family use a ‘now and next’ board to help him with his routines and with any changes. He has 1:1 support at the nursery so he can enjoy his time there and get the most out of it. He needs help with personal care and toileting.

Robbie is most confident when he is in familiar settings, at nursery or at home with those he knows well.

Robbie loves dancing and singing. He doesn’t have any favourite songs, just something with a catchy, bouncy tune that he can learn and sing along to.

The change in Robbie over the last year is remarkable. With the calm, consistent and attuned care of his foster family, Robbie’s anxiety and distress have diminished and although he has ‘his moments’, he is a happy little boy who is a pleasure to be around. He ‘stims’ when he is excited or unsure, he may still pinch his foster carer when he isn’t happy, and he will have a ‘meltdown’ when he is worried etc, but these are less frequent and much shorter in duration. Robbie goes to nursery every day. He loves nursery and this has helped his development in all areas. He enjoys a consistent routine as he finds change tricky.
