Christmas Party
Freya (5) and Rosie (3) are fun, funny and engaging little sisters who need a new family. Could you be the one?
Chatterbox Freya is 5 and would like a family who love to be outside, is fun-loving, up for playing games with her and ready to take her and her little sister on adventures and holidays.
She’s really open about her feelings which is wonderful to see. After her tricky start in her life, she needs lots of time and affection to reassure her as she always tries very hard to be liked and to get things right.
Freya is a budding gymnast who also enjoys drawing and colouring (particularly when she can do this with her foster carer) and tapping into her creative side as well as running around and playing with her little sister.
A perfect day for Freya would be to get up, help with making her breakfast, get ready and go out for an ‘adventure’. She is a great traveller who is always happy to try new things and is full of energy and enthusiasm – a real delight to be around. She also loves school and enjoys walking there and back every day with her foster family.
Freya has made great progress and has really grown in confidence. She had a slight stammer when she first came into care and we’ve made sure that she’s received support from the speech and language team to help her overcome this.
Her little sister Rosie is also a happy and settled little girl who has a brilliant independent streak often preferring to play on her own (she loves role-playing with her little kitchen) or read a book by herself.
Like most little sisters, she takes her lead from Freya, mimicking her behaviour but she also has a mind of her own and can be the bossy one too.
She has a very loving side and a wonderfully close relationship with her male foster carer who she will go to for reassurance and cuddles when she needs them.
Rosie’s perfect day would start gently with her helping to make breakfast. She likes to go for a stroll, taking the buggy in case she gets tired. She likes to go out for lunch or a drink in a café (who doesn’t!) before returning home to play in the garden with all of her toys.
She goes to nursery which she loves. Her speech and language are good and she is meeting all her developmental milestones, except with toileting (she is now potty-training).
What kind of family do the girls need?
We’re looking for a really nurturing family who can use the Therapeutic Parenting skills that we will teach you to help Freya and Rosie develop as they need lots of time and reassurance. Freya in particular wants to be near to you, cuddling with you and has limited stranger awareness. She needs to know that you will be there for her, no matter what.
Ideally they need to be the only children in the household. Freya and Rosie are used to living with a friendly small dog and cat who they love to snuggle and kiss (with a few gentle reminders to be gentle with them) so we are happy to place them with pets (subject to checks.)
